I skipped Nice, but got this shot of people out for an afternoon sail just outside. Note the little bumpers, the young skipper taking his family around and sails made out of a bedsheet.
Way to go!

You should not skip Nice. It is a very nice to just walk around the city and clime the mountain/hill. Walk along the shore/beach.
There is also a fantastic little place in the old harbour that serves "moules on frit" that you will never forget!
